Ashfield Cottage is a picturesque stone Victorian self catering cottage, in a cul de sac on the edge of the town, within easy walking distance of the centre. It can sleep 6 people in three bedrooms and has a garage plus off street parking for two cars.

The large and spacious sitting/dining room has a gas fired stove, t.v. with incorporated DVD, stereo and Unlimited Infinity wi-fi internet connection. Also we are lucky (for Wales) to get a good mobile phone signal. Next door is a new, well equipped kitchen leading into the sun room which offers a second dining area – particularly pleasant in the morning sun. There is a downstairs shower room with lavatory and electric heater plus a utility room with Belfast sink, washing machine. iron and board.

Upstairs there are three bedrooms and a family bathroom with over bath shower and electric heated towel rail. The bedrooms comprise one double and one double or twin – both these rooms are good sized with high ceilings and fitted wardrobes and have views of the Usk Valley. The smaller third bedroom has a sunny easterly aspect and can also be either double or twin. The cottage is heated throughout with gas fired central heating.

Outside, there is a pretty west facing garden with views of the Usk Valley to the Brecon Beacons – particularly enjoyable on a sunny evening. The courtyard outside the sun-room also gets the morning sun.

While one well behaved dog is permissible by arrangement, the cottage is not really suitable for small children or infirm people. We request no smoking anywhere in the house and reserve the right to charge for extra cleaning if smoking should take place.

The rent includes linen and towels plus a welcome pack containing basics such as milk, bread, eggs, fruit sparkling water and a bottle of wine. Staples (e.g. tea, coffee, jam and marmalade and general cooking ingredients) are constants in the cupboards.
