Crickhowell is served by a primary school and a co-educational secondary school. Each of the villages of Llangattock, Llangynidr and Llanbedr also have a primary school.

Crickhowell High School was built in 1983 to meet the needs of a growing community. The school’s staff are committed to delivering good quality teaching and learning. The school is known for its high standards of achievement and active approach to healthy lifestyles, and a belief that a good community school is about developing the whole person, within and beyond the classroom. Crickhowell Primary School
The school stands, surrounded by spacious playing fields, in a pleasant and elevated position on the western edge of Crickhowell. There are full facilities for children from Nursery age to Year 6.

Llanbedr Church in Wales school aims to promote Christian values, cultural diversity, race equality and community links. Llangynidr Community Primary School
The school is in the village of Llangynidr, a beautiful rural setting at the edge of the Brecon Beacons National Park, mid way between the market towns of Abergavenny and Brecon and some four miles from Crickhowell.
The catchment area consists of Llangynidr, Talybont-on-Usk and the surrounding villages. Since the closure of Talybont-on-Usk village school in 1991, many children from the area travel on school transport to our school. The bus leaves Talybont-on-Usk Post Office at 8.40 a.m. and returns at 3.45 p.m. A bus also brings children from Bwlch at 8.45 a.m. to return by 3.45 p.m.
