
What to do in Crickhowell...
Crickhowell is the ideal location to base yourself for an activity holiday or break and, provided you are properly equipped, it's easy to find the activity to suit, be it a walk or cycle route, horse-riding, caving or boating in the area. Pop into CRiC for suggestions, guide books and maps before you set out. We strongly recommend you check the weather before you venture out!
Crickhowell can be your base for so many stunning walks into the hills and mountains - you can access Table Mountain, the Brecon and Monmouth canal, the Llangattock escarpment, the river Usk and Glanusk estate. Close by you can also walk up Sugar Loaf, Allt yr Esgair or Tor y Foel. Pen y Fan, the highest peak in southern britain is a short drive from Crickhowell and accessible by bus from the town centre.
Crickhowell's Walkers are Welcome team have compiled a series of walks ranging from easy and moderate to energetic and strenuous and put them together into booklets which are available to buy in the information centre or online. Mountain Guide Kevin Walker also has a series of walking guides available to purchase in CRiC to aid your experience and enjoyment in our beautiful locality.
