Crickhowell Open Art Competition 2026
The Crickhowell Open Art Exhibition has become one of the annual highlights of the oriel CRiC gallery programme, eagerly anticipated by artists and visitors to the gallery. The competition results in an exhibition of selected work and starts during the Crickhowell Open Studios weekend, which annually takes place during the Spring Bank Holiday weekend (24 - 26 May 2026). It attracts an exciting mix of professional, emerging and amateur artists culminating in a diverse exhibition starting during the Crickhowell Open Studios Weekend and continuing until 11 July 2026.
2026 Winners
Sally Hamer was named the Overall winner with Heavenly Face, while Mynydd Bach Quiet by Sarah Jones won the Acrylic/Oil prize. Angela Dooley won the Watercolour Prize with A Tolkien Mirkwood and Martin Truefitt-Baker the Printmaker Prize with Over the Bridge, The Textile Award went to Sophie Mayled for Welsh lady and the award for a Digital entry to Stuart Lloyd for Birds bathing
Jantien Powell and Anthony Skates tied for the Visitors' Choice Prize
