The Bear has been a hostelry since 1432 serving food and drink. Dine at The Bear today where they serve a wide variety of dishes using top quality and where possible local produce.

Daily changing specials are served alongside a seasonal changing menu with hearty staples, regular favourites and food that reflects the kitchens different nationalities.

The Kitchen is led by Iain Sampson who trained at the Ritz London and moved to Wales over 20 years ago. He was awarded Welsh Restaurant of the Year while at The Newbridge Usk and is a multiple winner at international competitions including Welsh Chef of the Year.

Choose to eat amongst the chatter and laughter of The Bears oak-beamed bars, or the more sedate surroundings of their two restaurants, in the summer time you can dine al fresco surrounded by the colour and fragrance of the Bears flower garden.

Please call The Bear on 01873 810408 to reserve a table or visit their website to see sample menus and times of service
