Lee Wright
Lee Wright is an oil painter and printmaker based in the Brecon Beacons. He trained in printmaking at The Putney School of Art and oil painting at The Welsh Academy of Art. In his artwork, Lee creates windows into his subjects which capture the timeless beauty within them, be that in the tranquillity of The Brecon Beacons countryside, the glistening in the eye in a portrait or in the simple things in life in his still life paintings. Lee paints using techniques handed down from the masters such as Rembrandt, whilst his lino prints have an essence of the delicate and beautiful Japanese woodblock prints of the past with a nod of the ever popular Vintage Railway Prints. He works and teaches in his studios near Crickhowell in a converted Victorian School. Th e gallery showcases both his original work and prints and from time to time include his landscape and still life paintings.
