| About | David England is best known as a sculptor, living and working from south Hereford. He has painted seriously since he was about ten years old and has had regular exhibitions since the early eighties, but only found his need to carve stone about twenty years ago. He was attracted to the box collage, with its combination of two and three dimensional work. It seemed a natural progression to work with larger stone sculptures. The oriel CRiC gallery regularly shows sculptural work as well as box collages. Besides the human figure he returns to certain themes on a regular basis – mermaids, green men, hares and wild boar... things of the earth. |
