Summer 2022

There is no better time to celebrate the Welsh landscape than the summer and celebration is very much at the heart of the exhibition in the oriel CRiC gallery, Crickhowell. After a successful Open Art exhibition the gallery is showcasing the creativity of artists who are regularly represented by the gallery.

New work includes two small oil paintings by Paul Burgess, well-known for his wonderful depiction of light in the woodland landscape. Inspired by fallen trees and hawthorns on Llangattock mountain, painter and printmaker Martin Truefitt-Baker has added a collection of paintings in watercolour, pencil and pen which capture the atmosphere to perfection. His two newest pieces. The 'Kingfisher, evening rain' and 'Winter Hillside Badgers' have been added to a selection of wildlife linoprints.

The paintings and prints of popular artists such as Lee Wright, David Haswell, Louise Collis, Rhian Symes and John R Harris amongst others, make the gallery an exceptionally inspiring and uplifting destination for both visitors to the area and local residents. The exhibition includes a varied array of ceramics, studio glass and jewellery displaying great craftsmanship.
