Peter Cronin

A self taught artist living in South Wales, who turned professional in 2003 after a twenty year career in structural engineering. He has always had an awe and fascination with the natural environment and working on site in front of the subject has played a large part in the evolution of his style.

The inspiration for his work varies from season to season, but the weather and mood of the day are always the main aim of a painting. Most of his work is carried out in pure Watercolour, giving the luminosity of the medium full prominence. He also paints in Oils and enjoys the contrasting properties of the mediums.

He is a full member of the Following Societies: Royal Society of Marine Artists  and The Pure Watercolour Society

He was awarded the R.K. Burt & co. award for the best work on paper at the 2018 R.S.M.A show at the Mall Galleries London.  A selection of his paintings can be purchase online and in the gallery.
