Kay Leverton

Kay Leverton lives and works in Tredegar, Wales and has become well known for her intricately detailed Scraperboard etchings. A self taught artist, the natural world is her muse in all its variety, facets and moods. Walking the field boundaries or along a river bank or canal where you can sit down quietly and let the wildlife reveal itself is pure joy. Her long garden, which has "left alone" patches backs onto the Sirhowy River and whether a trickle or a torrent depending on the weather it brings all kinds of bird life from tiny ones to an occasional Cormorant, Heron, Owl or Hawk and also Hedgehogs and Moles. Ravens and Red Kites fly over to add to the drama. Kay loves celebrating the wild which is sadly much at risk and needs all our help. As she has continued to explore the Scraperboard medium from time to time a touch of colour via Gouache has been introduced.

In addition to framed original pieces, the  Oriel Cric Gallery also stocks a wide range of mounted giclee prints.
